Carl-Johan Bonnier

Chairman of the Board

Carl-Johan Bonnier received his M.Sc. degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in 1974. He joined Semic International in 1978 and was promoted to President in 1983. He was appointed Executive Vice President of AB Bonnierföretagen in 1987 and President and CEO in 1992. Carl-Johan Bonnier was elected Chairman of the Board in 1998. He is also Chairman of SNS and Bonnier Cityfastigheter, and a Board member of several companies in the Bonnier Group.

Bengt Braun

Vice Chairman

Bengt Braun became an officer in the Naval Academy in 1968. He received both a Bachelor of Law degree at Stockholm University and an MBA at the Stockholm School of Economics in 1970. He has held various management positions and has worked in many countries, including Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Switzerland and the United States at Procter & Gamble 1970-1989. He was President and CEO of Tidnings AB Marieberg from 1989-1998, and president and CEO of Bonnier AB from 1998-2007. Bengt Braun is member of the board of Bonnier Holding, TV4, Bonnier Morning Paper, Hjärnfonden, AB Hufvudstaden, Kabel BW in Germany and chairman of the Press Freedom Fund, World Association of Newspapers, based in Paris, France.

Hans-Jacob Bonnier

Executive Vice President, Dagens Industri

Hans-Jacob Bonnier obtained his M.Pol.Sc. degree from Stockholm University in 1973 and worked as marketing manager for Duni Sarl in France from 1974 to 1978 before his appointment in 1978 as President of Duni A/S in Norway. In 1982, Hans-Jacob Bonnier became Assistant to the President of Bonnierföretagen. In 1988, he started working as marketing manager of Bonnier Business Information and, in 1997, was named Executive Vice President of Dagens Industri. Hans-Jacob Bonnier is Chairman of the Family Business Network in Sweden, the European Business Press Federation and the Bonnier Family Foundation. He is also a Board member of Nordea and Stockholms Regional Board and Vice Chairman of Albert Bonnier ABs Board.

Jeanette Bonnier

Stockholm, born 1934

Starting as a general reporter at Expressen in 1952, Jeanette Bonnier subsequently worked for several years as a reporter for Veckojournalen, Bildjournalen and other publications. Jeanette Bonnier was Manager of Bonnier Inc. in New York from 1969 to 1976.

With Theodor Kallifatides, she co-authored the screenplay of Kärleken (Love), and with Märta Tikkanen, the screenplay for Män kan inte våldtas (Men Can't be Raped). From 1980 to 1983, she managed art galleries in New York. She is a board member of AB Kvällstidningen Expressen and AB Dagens Nyheter, as well as Svensk Filmindustri.

Pontus Bonnier

President of AB Boninvest

Pontus Bonnier acquired his M.Sc. degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in 1976. He joined Kema Nobel in 1977 and was named acting CFO of AB Bonnierföretagen in 1987. Today, Pontus Bonnier is President of Boninvest and Vice Chairman of the Bonnier AB Board and a Board member of AB Dagens Nyheter, AB Kvällstidningen Expressen and several other companies in the Bonnier Group. He is also a Board member of Freetel AB,Qbrick AB and Investment AB Öresund.

Arne Karlsson

Stockholm, born 1958

President of Ratos since 1999. Member of the Ratos Board since 1999. Formerly President of Atle Mergers & Acquisitions and Hartwig Invest, among other companies. Member of the Board of Bonnier AB, Camfil, Haglöfs and of the Swedish Securities Council.

Lars Carlberg

Gothenburg, born 1947

Union Representative

Lars Carlberg has worked in cinemas since 1972. He joined Palladium cinemas in Gothenburg, which were taken over by Europa Film and later became SF Bio. Today, Lars Carlberg is mainly an engineer. He has worked in the union for more than 30 years at various levels within the Musicians Association and the Theater League. He is the regional safety representative in the Theater League and is included in the Board of SF Bio in Gothenburg. Lars Carlberg studied at the program of Personal and Social Issues at Gothenburg University, and studied Labor in Wales in 1990.

Pernilla Ström

Stockholm, born 1962

Pernilla Ström has a background in economics, journalism and financial analysis. She has been an editorial writer and political reporter for Expressen, Veckans Affärer and Dagens Nyheter among others. She has also worked as EG-investigator for the Department of Finance, as a macroeconomics analyst for Öhman Fondkommission and as CEO of Blockbid. In addition to several non-profit ventures and her own company, Ity AB, Pernilla Ström is a Board member of Salus-Ansvar AB, HQ Fonder AB and Reseproducenterna AB.

Per-Olov Atle

Stockholm, born 1943

Degree in business administration from the Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law, 1965. Employed by Albert Bonniers Förlag in 1966 as a researcher and subsequently in various posts, becoming President of what is now Bonnierförlagen in 1982.

Atle was appointed President of Bonnier Media in 1997 and was the Executive Vice President of Bonnier AB between 1998 and 2002. Today, he also has Board assignments in Bonnier Entertainment and Bonnier Books and was previously Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Publishers’ Association and the Swedish Publishing and Media Association for many years.

Claes Hallin

Stockholm, born 1953

Representative for the Swedish Graphic Workers' Union.

Began training as a typographer at Dagens Nyheter’s typesetting school in 1970, retrained as an electrical technician in 1980. Employed as a packing-hall electrician since 1982, initially in Marieberg and, since its inception, at the Akalla unit. Has worked as a union representative at various levels for 15 years. His current union assignments are as a member of the board of the local association at the DNEX printing plant, representative for the Swedish Graphic Workers' Union in Stockholm, and member of the Graphic Workers’ Union’s agreement council and election committee.

Börje Andersson

Gothenburg, born 1947

Trade union representative of the Swedish Union of Journalists (SJF).

Journalist since 1967. Has worked for the newspapers Hudiksvalls-Tidningen, Gefle Dagblad, Göteborgs Handels- och Sjöfartstidning, Sydsvenskan, Bohusläningen, GT (since 1980), iDAG and GT/Expressen. Has worked in such positions as editor, editorial writer and web moderator. Is currently a reporter at GT/Expressen. Senior Safety Officer. Member of SJF’s Professional Ethics Board. Assignments on behalf of the Swedish National Press Club.

Christian Caspar

BSc Economics degree, Stockholm School of Economics 1973, head of McKinsey Scandinavia 1986-1996, Chairman of the McKinsey Directors’ Committee 1994-2000, head of McKinsey Corporate Finance 1998-2005.

Chairman of Chapter 6 of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences 1995-2000. Advisor to several major European companies on matters of strategy, management and capital markets.
