Swedish Grand Prize for Journalism 2015 Winners

Earlier this evening at a gala ceremony and dinner, the winners of the Swedish Grand Prize for Journalism2015  were revealed in front of 200 of the country’s leading media personalities as well as via live broadcast on Sweden’s biggest media sites.

The evening was hosted by Peter Wolodarski, editor-in-chief for Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter. Legendary French TV journalist and program host Christine Ockrent was the guest speaker, talking on stage with Wolodarski about the roiling situation in France and Europe with terrorist attacks, the refugee crisis and threats against journalism and freedom of speech.

Storyteller of the Year

Johanna Bäckström Lerneby, Filter

The jury wrote: “For unsparing journalism that with an ingenious dramaturgy refines and adds depth to the genre of crime reporting.”

Innovator of the Year

Kristoffer Örstadius, Dagens Nyheter
Hackerjournalisten (the hacker journalist)

The jury wrote: “For, in a new and, for journalism, inspiring way, using programming and hacking to reveal vulnerabilities in our digital society.”

Scoop of the Year

Andreas Cervenka and Torbjörn Isacson, Svenska Dagbladet
SCA-affären (the SCA affair)

The jury wrote: “For catching in a hunt the biggest game, resulting in a major rearranging of chairs in Sweden’s board rooms.”

Lukas Bonnier’s Grand Prize for Journalism, for lifetime achievement

Kerstin Weigl, Aftonbladet
For, as the jury wrote: “her tireless investigation, uncovering one of society’s hidden disaster areas.”

The Swedish Grand Prize for Journalism was established by Bonnier in 1966 to recognize top efforts in journalism. The awards are worth SEK 100,000 each.
