Ulrika Saxon New CEO for Bonnier Growth Media

When I am Zlatan Ibrahimović by David Lagercrantz was released in November 2011, it was a hit, creating a stir in the media and quickly becoming a best-seller. The engaging, honest and moving story of his growing up in Rosengård outside Malmö in southern Sweden, the insight into the world of elite soccer, but also his love for his wife, Helena, and his children attracted readers far beyond just dedicated fans.

The book sold over a half million copies in six weeks and became Sweden’s best-selling book ever in such a short period of time.

Now, in connection with non-profit organization BRIS (Children’s Rights in Society) comes a special signed and numbered edition. The book is bound by hand and has a metal cover done by hand as well, and comes in its own elegant box.

“I’m happy to work yet again with BRIS,” says Ibrahimović. “With this donation, myself and all who have worked with the book, hope that BRIS can be there for even more children who need an adult to talk to.”

Once the entire edition is sold out, a total of SEK 2.5 million will end up going to BRIS.

“This is a fantastic donation especially for all the children who need an adult to talk to,” says Kattis Ahlström, general secretary for BRIS. “The money will be used to improve BRIS’ availability so that no child who needs us will be without adult support and an adult presence. All children are welcome at BRIS.”

“Zlatan’s book has reached many of the children and youth who are now where he was growing up – as an outsider,” says Albert Bonnier, publisher and board chair for Albert Bonniers Förlag, who has put out the book. “So it’s especially exciting that the power of this book can also support BRIS.”
