Awards to Swedish Authors from Bonnierförlagen

Five Swedish authors were recipients of a total of USD 75,000 in 2010 from the Albert Bonnier Stipend Fund for Swedish Authors. The awards are for authors who have produced a new work of literary significance during 2010. Those receiving awards, which were given out on Jan. 10, 2011, were: Magnus Florin for Ränderna (the stripes); Birgitta Lillpers for Om du fick tänka dig ett hem (if you had to imagine a home); Gabriela Melinescu for Mamma som gud (mom as god); Niclas Nilsson for Love me tender; and Arne Sundelin for Fallet Thurneman (the Thurneman case).

The Albert Bonnier Stipend Fund for Swedish authors was established in 1901. The jury for the awards is made up of writers, which for 2010 included Jan Arnald, Cecilia Davidsson, Cilla Naumann, Ulf Karl Olov Nilsson, Marie Silkeberg and Klas Östergren, plus Albert Bonnier as a representative for the donors.
