Bonnier Business Media Invests in Svenska Patientpoolen

Bonnier Business Media has announced the acquisition of majority shares in Svenska Patientpoolen AB. Startup company Svenska Patientpoolen, using the brand LyfePond, aims to be a communications hub between patients and the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries as well as other stakeholders within the world of life sciences.  

“We’ve worked actively with a strategy to continuously stengthen our position within healthcare and pharmaceuticals both in Sweden and internationally,” says Fredrik Andersson, responsible for new growth business within Bonnier Business Media. “Svenska Patientpoolen has developed a very exciting concept that we aim to strengthen within our strong brands and extensive reach within the patient segment. We can provide the entrepreneurs with an environment and tools to help realize LyfePond’s full potential.”

“It’s very exciting that we, as the first integrator in the fast-growing e-health segment, have come so far,” says Anderas Silow, one of the founders and CEO for Svenska Patientpoolen AB. “That Bonnier comes in as majority shareholder is a strong sign that we have the right strategy, and that it’s sustainable.”

Bonnier has established health as one of the group’s primary segments to invest in within business-to-business. “Right now we see growth of a dynamic and more patient-centered arena within e-health, where we our media has a clear role to play for both patients and the profession as whole,” says Andersson. “Bonnier has a clear vision and the will to grow this business, and we’re open to development discussions with all sections of the market.”
