Bonnier invests in Klarna

The Swedish payment and credit company Klarna is raising almost SEK 5.7 billion in new capital.

Bonnier acquires shares in Klarna in connection with an investment round led by the American venture capital company Silver Lake, in which it will raise almost SEK 5.7 billion in order to invest in further growth and expansion.

– We have followed Klarna closely for several years as a satisfied customer in successful partnerships, during which we have gained a thorough understanding of the real potential of Klarna’s unique customer offering. We are very happy about the opportunity to invest in Klarna and to support Sebastian Siemiatkowski and his team to further develop the business, says Erik Haegerstrand, CEO of Bonnier Group.
