Change in company structure for Bonnier News Local
When Bonnier News and Amedia jointly acquired Hall Media in the spring of 2020, the business area Bonnier News Local was created. Today the business area comprises the companies Bonnier News Local AB (formerly Mittmedia), Hall Media and HD-Sydsvenskan.
Bonnier News Local AB – which is co-owned by Bonnier News (80%) and Amedia (20%) – is currently the owner of Hall Media, while the ownership in HD-Sydsvenskan is divided between Bonnier News and the minority owner Danish JP/Politikens Hus.
The legal structure is now being changed as Bonnier News Local AB will be taking over Bonnier News’ ownership in HD-Sydsvenskan. By doing this, Bonnier News Local AB becomes the parent company of both Hall Media and HD-Sydsvenskan.
The companies within the Bonnier News Local business area already today function as one operating unit, and through the change in structure, the units are now also legally organized according to the operating level. The adjusted company structure also strengthens Bonnier News’ partnership with Amedia, which ensures the foundation for the future and will help accelerate the digital transformation of Swedish local journalism.
